Future-Preneurs Zambia FPSZ proudly participated in International youth Day commemoration on 12 March 2026 in Mufulira District, an important platform that brought together young people, civic leaders, and development partners to celebrate and reflect on the role of youth in national development.
The event also marked a significant
milestone with the launch of the ๐๐จโ๐๐จ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ, aimed at amplifying the voices of hard-to-reach youths and people living with disabilities strengthening youth participation
in governance and community development.
Our participation was made possible through the support of Restles Development under the African Union-European Union Youth Cooperation Hub project,
which seeks to empower young people and create inclusive opportunities for youth engagement.
During the event, the keynote address delivered by the Mayor of Mufulira, Mr. Kamanga, emphasized the importance of youth empowerment through practical
skills and entrepreneurship. He encouraged young people who have benefited from skills training under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to take
advantage of the program by applying for grants to establish small businesses using the skills they have acquired.
The event highlighted the critical role of partnerships in supporting youth empowerment and reaffirmed the commitment of stakeholders to ensuring that
young people are equipped with the opportunities and resources needed to thrive.
Future-Preneurs Zambia remains committed to working with partners and communities to promote youth participation, leadership, and sustainable development.
Future-Preneurs Zambia (FPSZ) successfully conducted a Capacity Building Workshop on Electoral Systems in Muffulira Zambia
and Civic Engagement, bringing together youths, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
to strengthen their knowledge and participation in democratic and governance processes.
The training was implemented under the African UnionโEuropean Union Youth Cooperation Hub (AUโEU Youth Project),
which aims to amplify the voices of hard-to-reach youths and promote meaningful youth participation in governance and
decision-making processes. The initiative is supported by Restless Development and its partners who remain committed to empowering young people across the region.
During the workshop, several key presentations were delivered by the Future-Preneurs Zambia team:
Mr. Martin Bwalya Kampamba, Executive Director of Future-Preneurs Zambia, delivered a comprehensive presentation on
Electoral Systems and Electoral Reforms in Zambia, highlighting the importance of understanding democratic processes and ongoing reform discussions.
Mr. Shadrick Mofya, the Project Lead Manager, presented on Understanding Leadership and Civic Participation in Local
Structures of Governance, emphasizing the role of young people in strengthening local governance systems and accountability.
Mr. Timothy Chitalu, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer at Future-Preneurs Zambia,
facilitated a session on Civic Engagement and Participation, focusing on empowering citizens, especially young people to
actively engage in policy processes and democratic spaces.
The training received an overwhelmingly positive response from participants, particularly youths, Persons with Disabilities,
and Civil Society Organizations, who actively engaged in discussions and knowledge-sharing throughout the workshop.
This successful engagement reflects Future-Preneurs Zambiaโs continued commitment to strengthening civic awareness, promoting
inclusive participation, and building the capacity of young leaders to actively contribute to democratic governance in Zambia.

Future-Preneurs Zambia (FPSZ) successfully conducted a capacity building training under the โAmplifying the Voice of Hard-to-Reach Youths and Persons living with Disabilityโ initiative, implemented through the African UnionโEuropean Union Youth Cooperation Hub (AUโEU Youth Voice Lab Project) in Solwezi.
The training was held at Bishop Potern Hall at the Catholic Diocese of Solwezi and brought together a diverse group of participants, including representatives from the Solwezi Municipal Council, the Electoral Commission of Zambia, youths from different wards, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The session focused on strengthening participantsโ capacity in civic engagement, leadership, and inclusive participation in governance processes, with particular emphasis on ensuring that marginalized and hard-to-reach youths are meaningfully involved in decision-making spaces. Notably, the training also resulted in the formation of a Quasi Council for Youth in Solwezi, a key milestone aimed at enhancing youth coordination, representation, and engagement with local governance structures.
This engagement reflects Future-Preneurs Zambiaโs continued commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue, strengthening partnerships with key institutions, and empowering young people with the knowledge and tools necessary to actively participate in democratic processes.

Future-Preneurs Zambia (FPSZ) successfully conducted a Capacity Building Training on Climate Action Awareness in Kalusale Community, Kalulushi District, as part of the implementation of the Women in Climate Action (SheRise) Project.
The training brought together Women Environmental Rights Defenders (WERDs), providing a platform to strengthen
their knowledge, skills, and leadership in addressing climate change and environmental challenges affecting their communities.
The activity was graced by the Area Councillor, Hon. Bertha Mulenga, whose presence reaffirmed the importance of local leadership in advancing climate action and community development initiatives.
In his opening remarks, the FPSZ Director, Mr. Martin Bwalya Kampamba, emphasized the critical role of women in championing climate action, particularly in communities like Kalusale that have been significantly affected by environmental pollution. He highlighted that empowering women with knowledge and tools is essential for building resilient communities and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
The training focused on increasing awareness of climate change, its local impacts, and practical community-based solutions, while also encouraging active participation of women in environmental governance and advocacy.
This engagement marks a significant step toward strengthening community resilience, gender-responsive climate action, and
environmental justice in mining-affected areas.
